| February 1, 2010 | The third annual GFI for the National Inclusion project was held a Mirasol Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Co-founders Clay & Diane Bubel were again joined by golf pro Wayne Player. Though rain drove the golfers off the course early, the rest of the day was a great success. Guests enjoyed a live auction of golf-related goodies and Clay-centric items and a lovely dinner. They were then treated to a mini-concert by Clay, including a couple of songs from his up-coming Decca release and requests made by donors to the foundation. A Florida children's camp run by the Lion's Club was the recipient of one of the 2010 grants. Considering they were taken through the studio window, she got some nice pictures! Jack Hanna from the Columbus Zoo was one of the other guests on GMA that day. A New York fan known as 'bigappleforclay' shot some video of Clay interacting with some of the zoo animals off-stage. The graphic includes screen caps from her video. Clay seemed enthralled with the little monkey, spending some moments interacting with it. Judging from the pictures, Clay was a little uncertain about the aardvark's reception, but they eventually made contact. This 'preview' airing of Clay's special set the stage for future broadcast on other stations in the Public Broadcasting System's network. Phones rang steadily during pledge breaks as viewers gave their monetary support to the station and received 'Thank You' gifts based on their level of support.
