In January of 2005, Clay appeared in a number of magazines. He was featured on the cover of Hits Magazine, had a joke inspired by him in Disney Adventures and was featured in People. The first picture of his Scrubs appearance also appeared.
In January of 2005 there was a four page excerpt from Clay's book, Learning to Sing in Reader's Digest . This also included photos of Clay's teacher Mrs. Norton.

In February of 2005 Clay was featured in some interesting media.The Oklahoma Gazette had some President's Day fun, Christian Music Planet had him on their cover and he was featured in an article in Lime Magazine about eligible celebrities as well as a snippet about his work with the tsunami disaster.
In February of 2005 several magazines gave fans a sneak peek at Clay's upcoming appearance on Scrubs. TV Guide and In Touch Magazines both had pictures from behind the scenes.

On March 18, 2005, Clay delivered a short speech to a huge crowd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He gave his speech in the native language of Malaysia, Bahasa Malaysia. He did a lot of press for the event and for UNICEF in general.
In March of 2005, Clay appeared in some international media. CNN Korea had an article based on Clay's November appearance on the Larry King Live CNN talk show and Mexican papers included coverage of Clay's appointment as a UNICEF ambassador and also McDonald's World's Children Day.
In March of 2005, there were some very nice mentions in print media for Clay. Teen Magazine had an article about him and Clay appeared in Two Pop Categories in Groovevolt Awards for best male album and best male song. He also appeared prominently in a USA Today in an article about Idol.
3/14/05 - Clay was the first person to be awarded the 'Worldwide Pageants "Service Excellence Award" ' for his dedication to the cause of assisting children with exceptionalities.

In April, 2005 many fans were searching for the new series of American Idol Coke bottles that featured the participants from Season 2. The Top 4 performers were pictured.

In April of 2005, the print media included BMG Music Magazine with Clay on the cover and MOAM featured. Also both TV Guide and People featured Clay's trip to Indonesia.
On 4/16/05 Clay took part in activities surrounding National Youth Service Day. This is an annual weekend event that features children and teens volunteering in their communities. Clay joined young people with intellectual disabilities and their Best Buddies in the planting of trees in Hollywood, Florida. He also announced the first recipients of the Clay Aiken "Able to Serve" grants. These are grants of up to two thousand each to youth with disabilities for community service projects for National Youth Service Day.
In April and July Clay's work with charities was highlighted in some magazines including People and J14. He also testified before congress requesting increased US funding for the organization.
The May/June edition of the Today's caregiver magazine had a brief mention of Clay. He had been the Keynote Speaker at their recent Florida Caregiver's Conference.
In May of 2005 Print media included New Zealand TV Magazine about Scrubs. In Touch about bullying, Carolina County magazine with a bio about Clay. Lime Magazine in Singapore about Clay's appearance at the Forces of Nature Concert and there were Jukebox Tour concerts starting appearing in print.
In June of 2005, The Tampa Tribune had ads promoting his Christmas tour, Learning to Sing paperback edition became available for pre-order and Twist magazine featured an article about his summer tour.
In July of 2005, there were some interesting pieces of print media including a piece about Camp Gonzo in a French Canadian magazine and an article about Clay's Amazon delivery.
In April, one of Clay's style team wrote on their website about attending a photo shoot in Aspen. On August 8, 2005 pictures surfaced in the portfolio of photographer Mary Ellen Matthews.
In August of 2005 there was a lot of different print media. Inside TV magazine had an article about Erica Kane's talk show and Clay's interview with her. Teen People talked about how tall Clay was. There was promotion for his Jukebox Tour in the Toledo Blade, The Raleigh News and Observer and in the Traverse City A&E, and the Columbus Dispatch even had a poll which Clay won...replacing their local news anchor.
From May to September there were a few odds and ends we couldn't let slip through. Clay was in the audience at the 22nd annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards. Clay's house and the hits it generated was used for a website ad and US Magazine talked about Clay's mysplash debit card.
In September there were a few magazine mentions. Clay won InStyle magazine's contest for best Crooner two years in a row. He was featured in an article in American Teacher about UNICEF's Trick or Treat Campaign. A network company used Clay's home to show how their company could handle the website hits. Trick or Treat for UNICEF promotional materials View
On 5/31/05, UNICEF announced that Clay would be the National Spokesman for the 2005 Trick or Treat for UNICEF fund raising campaign. In September, promotional materials started appearing.
In October of 2005 there was a variety of print media. TV Guide did a retrospective for the last issue it produced in the original small format. Ruben and Clay's AI2 story was included as one of the memorable ones of the 2000's. People included a shot from Clay's time at the fashion show. Inside TV magazine had pictures from Clay's trip to Reba's show and Soap Opera magazine included some snaps of Clay with Erica Kane.
On 10/04/05, Clay's song Mary, Did you know was included in this 2 CD set. This compilation cd of holiday songs by Christian artists was called Wow Christmas.

In November Clay 's name showed up in some various newspapers and magazines. The Lincoln Journal Star had an article. OK magazine and Dose Daily both had tidbits and even Jeopardy had an answer about him.
Amazon was running a series of 'backstage' videos to encourage customer donations to assist victims of hurricanes in the Southern U.S. On 12/8/05, a backstage video debuted for Clay.
We found a few odds and ends. Clay appeared on two TV shows that were covering the growing sextuplets. The Insider and Discovery Health. They showed the girls visiting Clay at a concert. Clay was the spokesperson for the Marine's Toys for Tots campaign. Who Wants to Be A Millionaire used Clay in a question and some fans in Vancouver found a Trick or Treat for UNICEF ad still posted in November at the beginning of the JNT05.
In December of 2005 there was a lot of media surrounding his upcoming tour and his book. He was in the People Year End magazine, Women's Day, Readers Digest, The Oakland Press and TV Guide.
On 12/24/05, Clay appeared on WRAL and did a nice year end interview with Lynda Loveland. He said he wanted his album done in May but it might be pushed back to September...it was. He wanted to go to Uganda again. He said moving into his home was pushed back until February.
