Krispy Kreme




On 3/15/04, after a sold out concert the previous night, Clay did an autograph session at a local Krispy Kreme donut shop in Winston-Salem. Sales during his visit went to the Bubel Aiken Foundation. The first 150 people in line got to go in and meet Clay and get one autograph and have their group picture taken.


On 7-18-04, a partnership was formed:
The Bubel Aiken Foundation announced a new partnership with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc.

The new program will utilize Krispy Kreme fundraising programs across the United States to raise important funds for the Bubel/Aiken Foundation, which serves to bridge the gap that exists for young people with developmental disabilities.

During the week of July 19th - 25th, Krispy Kreme stores nationwide will also host a special Bubel/Aiken Foundation week. The week is designed to build awareness and raise funds for this important cause.

In an announcement, Clay Aiken stated, "I am proud to announce this special partnership with Krispy Kreme to build awareness for an important cause that is near to my heart. I am blessed with passionate fans who support me in so many ways, so I am issuing a challenge and will reward the fan who raises the most funds through the program with a great trip for two to one of my upcoming shows."


On 9/24/04, a winner of the contest was announced:

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) and the Bubel/Aiken Foundation joined forces in July to raise awareness and funds to support the Foundation and its mission. The Bubel/Aiken Foundation, created by RCA multi-platinum recording artist Clay Aiken, aims to foster programs and activities that provide children with special needs full- inclusion in all areas of daily life.

Krispy Kreme designated the week of July 19th as "A Special Week at Krispy Kreme." During this week, participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide promoted the work of the Bubel/Aiken Foundation through activities in the stores, including educational programs and Kids' Day events.

In addition, the Company assisted with fundraising efforts for the
Foundation throughout the month of July as many groups and organizations responded to the "Fundraising Challenge" from Clay and Diane Bubel. The fan who raised the most funds for the Foundation was to be awarded an all-expense paid trip for two to meet Clay in person and attend an upcoming concert.

The Bubel/Aiken Foundation and Krispy Kreme Inc. are proud to announce that Leslie Janaski from Milwaukee, Wisconsin raised $1,300 for the Foundation and will receive the special trip. In total, the partnership between The Bubel/Aiken Foundation and Krispy Kreme raised more than $12,000 thanks to generous, hardworking volunteers.
